Jean-Michel Lengrand.
French painter, sculptor, etcher and author, born in 1955 in Paris.
He's one of the surrealists but develops a metaphysical character through archetypes.
He was influenced by the masters of Flemish painting during the fifteen years that he stood in The Netherlands at his beginning.
He uses the amber painting process invented by Jan van Eyck, on panel.
All Jean-Michel Lengrand paintings are made with Venitian amber with essential oil of fine lavender and turpentine, painted on wooden panels.
Then he left Europe.
He travelled and painted in several countries, like Morocco.
In 1994, he discovered the Caribbean. He enjoyed life in Saint Barth and Saint-Martin.
He still lives there.
He's the grandson of the painter André Lengrand.
